The Joint Leadership of the United States Congress (Congressional Award Board of Directors) awards the Horizon Award a special recognition. The Horizon Award recognizes individuals from the private sector who have made a significant contribution to improving opportunities for all Americans through their personal efforts and have set exemplary examples for youngsters by their achievements in life. Tom was a fantastic friend and teammate. He enjoyed playing with this skilled and knowledgeable team and was always working hard when his Magnum schedule permitted ..... He was extremely patient with us all, and we relished the big crowds that replaced the usual sparse number of players' spouses and friends during the National tourney games. ".
