Her Broadway debut was High Fidelity. There, she performed in a wide variety of productions, including King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew at the Guthrie Theater; Much Ado About Nothing for Shakespeare in the Park. Also The off Broadway shows Romantic Poetry & Measure for Pleasure received world premieres. Swallow debuted in film as a military dramatist, The Lucky Ones. Swallow was in the world premieres for Donald Margulies' The Country House as well as Louis Jenkins' Nice Fish both at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse. In 2010 she was awarded the Falstaff Award, which is presented to the female actress who has performed the best in a production. Her performance as Kate in The Taming of the Shrew as Kate was the reason she received the award. Swallow collaborated with Jac Huberman to create an original stage production, Jac N Swallow. The duo performed in New York's Laurie Beeckman Theater in 2012 and Joe's Pub in the year 2012. The story revolves around their comic misadventures, in which they attempt to deal with various situations and with different degrees of sanity or dignity. A series is being created based on the two characters. She collaborated in 2013 together with Mark Rylance, poet Louis Jenkins and The Guthrie Theater on the premiere of Nice Fish. In 2016, she portrayed the role of Ayad Akhtar in Disgraced by Center Theatre Group. [6] Swallow's first television part was on Guiding Light, and she also appeared in Southland, Ringer, The Good Wife, NCIS, Flight of the Conchords, Medium, as series regular the character Dr. Michelle Robidaux on TNT's medical drama Monday Mornings[2] as well as Rizzoli and Isles. The main role she played was that of FBI Agent Kim Fischer, in The Mentalist. 1-7 She was Amara who was the Darkness in Supernatural's 11th Season. Since the beginning of 2019, she was cast in the role of Armorer on Star Wars: The Mandalorian. This was her debut appearance in the role of the traditional Mandalorians' head of the Mandalorians. Her appearance hasn't been featured in the show as traditionalists are not allowed to take off their helmets in the view of other people.
