Firefly is Whedon s next huge hit television series. She must have left an indelible impression because the one episode that she appeared on led to her being a celebrity. Her River Tam character was complex and Glau did a great job of handling it. Tam, as the character in the film known, was subjected to government experiments that were designed to create her into a perfect assassin. Tam could not control her feelings as a consequence. Glau showed off her fighting capability as well as her acting abilities in Firefly. Glau could make the most of her athletic skills since she was trained as an assassin. Summer Glau's classical training makes her a highly accomplished ballerina. She also has studied tango and Flamenco, but a broken foot caused her to stop dancing. Firefly was only on for one season, but it gained an avid following. The fans of Whedon were so passionate that Whedon returned to it 2 years after. Summer Glau, however, was still receiving top-quality work. The actress has been featured on tv shows like Cold Case or CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
